Dropped off short deadline opportunity

Regarding new opportunity which had short turn around time, the decision was transferred to other account team and the deadline was setup at 5 PM on the same day. On mean time our team was in middle of all these things, as we were not sure whether the opportunity had been decided to hold off or it would be decided to be submitted at the last minute. Around noon I was checking with accounts team, whether our team need to work on the solution or we can hold off till we get response from the accountable team. The response was neutral and it was conveyed that they were also not sure about the outcome and its better to go ahead and from the solution. However, I was sure that the opportunity would be dropped off and didn’t even bothered to initiate work on any solutions. The time had tuned 5 PM and still there was no sight of the decision and around 6:30 PM, account team had scheduled leadership connect to decide outcome on this opportunity and I was sure some decision would be taken by then. And to my surprise just few mins away from the scheduled leadership call, the account team had decided not to go ahead with the opportunity and would be dropped with immediate effect. Work struggle on weekend

I was working on weekend to provide support for the new opportunity that I was assigned and to my bad luck my office Skype for business was not working and my status was showing as offline. I tried different methods to make it work and all the efforts went in vain and finally I had even opened ticket in IT support for immediate resolution. Again to my stars, the IT support tried all different options and was finally conveyed that it would not be solved until it is connected to office network and closest possible resolution for this issue would be on Monday. But, if it shows offline till Monday all the effort I am putting in for this opportunity would go in vain and it would also become difficult to raise compensatory off for working on weekends. So, after all research and hard work I was able to find an alternative work-around, it was to open webmail in my personal laptop and from there I was able to login to Skype. I done it once in few hours just to ensure that my manager and colleagues were able to recognize the fact that I was working on weekends. Rising water level and frustration

Now for the entire day I was roaming around in my apartment and for charging I used to turn on my car and charge as much as possible. Now I could sense the panic among all people and I tried to avoid conversation to keep me relaxed. At around evening I found that in my apartment, they were providing backup power to common area and in Gym I could charge my MacBook Pro. By charging MacBook Pro, I was able to charge my other two devices as well through USB ports. During late in the evening I went again for a short walk to check the water levels, hoping if it had receded little bit I could reach my home town. But, the exact opposite thing had happened and water level had raised even more and water was even reaching the parking lot of the apartment. Now this made me even more worrying and went back to my home with no other option left. All the while, my entire companion was my iPod Touch 5th Generation and around 20 TinTin comic books. 20. Height of betrayal in the team

Small recap of the events, the manager in the team requested my hike percentage and after a long thought process I just revealed close enough hike percentage to him and later found out that it was a huge mistake. By trusting him I just revealed a slightly lowered hike percentage to him and felt he would be trustable in the team. So, the conversation ended there and we didn’t even discuss much about the hike percentage or other things. I thought he would hold the confidentiality and moved ahead with my busy work schedule. After a week-long time, I had to chat with one of the team members from the same manager and I had no clue of what would have happened and was chatting with him normally. Now all of a sudden, he dropped a huge bombshell on my trust about a manager in my team, that the manager was discussing about my hike percentage to him and he revealed my exact hike percentage to all in the team. One more opportunity closed with complex SME

Now I had to work with most difficult team to work with to complete the opportunity, one with most rude behavior and lot of ego issues and the other team member who was least bothered about the work. The opportunity kicked off only with our team and later on it was found that we had smaller scope compared to other teams, who had to be looped later in the process. So, I was somewhat relaxed about the smaller scope and was hoping that the opportunity would be closed in smoother way. The opportunity kicked off and was coordinating with this complex delivery expert to finish up the work. Each time when I used to call this delivery expert, there used to be always new suggestions, opinions, changes and lot of updates. I had to bend a lot to complete all these things and was sharing with him for his opinion. At one point in this opportunity process, I was working hard at my end to complete all the open items and this delivery expert had shouted at me for no fault of mine, asking me to do some updates in delivery related information. I was so much pissed off and wanted to give it to him back, but I don’t want to complex things because it would be of no use for 2 reasons. Continue this at “G R Team Sites”
